5Cr2NiMoVSi steel is a large section hot forging die steel with high hardenability. When the steel is heated, the austenite grain growth tendency is small, the heating temperature range of heat treatment is wide, and the steel has good thermal stability, thermal fatigue performance and impact toughness. It is suitable for manufacturing hot dies for large section presses and die forging hammers.

Preheat at 650 ℃, quench at 985 ℃ and temper twice. Preheating at 650 ℃ is adopted to reduce thermal stress and prevent deformation and cracking. Increasing the quenching temperature will further increase the same fire stability of steel.
Considering that the increase of quenching temperature will have an adverse effect on plastic toughness, we adopt 985 ℃ quenching. For the first tempering, the tempering temperature is selected according to the design hardness of the die and the tempering curve of the material in order to make it meet the hardness required for use. The second tempering temperature is 20 ~ 40 ℃ lower than the first tempering, so that the martensite transformed from residual austenite during the cooling process of the first tempering can also be tempered.

(2) The high temperature performance of the die is improved. Due to the high quenching temperature of the steel, the solid solubility of the alloy elements in the matrix is increased, and each alloy element can improve or promote the secondary hardening of the steel and improve the re ignition resistance of the steel. The improvement of flame resistance means good thermal stability, so that the die can still maintain high strength and hardness at high temperature, and the anti deformation ability of the die is improved, so that the die collapse and cavity deformation are greatly reduced.
(3) Better oxidation resistance, the Cr content of the steel is high, and the oxidation resistance is obviously improved by adding s. When forging to 4300 pieces, the groove of the die is still bright, which reduces the friction coefficient and reduces the wear of the die.
5cr2nmovsi steel is often used to manufacture forging dies on various presses and 3T hammer forging dies. The average service life of 5CrNiMo steel is about 05.1 times that of high dry 5CrNiMo steel
